The Bible - We believe that the Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it is God breathed and completely free from error, it is our sole source of authority for Christian beliefs and living. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Psalm 119:11
God - We believe that God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are one God, co-equal and co-eternal. God has revealed Himself to people so that humanity can be restored to relationship with Him. Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; John 1:1-3
Jesus Christ - Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God born into this world to save people from sin and bring them back to God. During His time on earth, He lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He was buried in a tomb and after three days He arose from the dead to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father, making intercession on our behalf. Mathew 1:22, 23; Isa. 9:6; John 1:4-5; Luke 23:44-46; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 4:14-15
Holy Spirit – We believe the Holy Spirit was sent into the world to make people aware of their sin and need for Jesus Christ as their Savior. The Holy Spirit is active in the new birth of believers, and indwells (lives) in each believer at the moment of salvation. He then in turn produces fruit (good works) in the lives of believers daily as they yield to His control. John 16:7-13; 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 1:13 Galatians 5:22-25
Creation - We believe in the literal six days of Creation as set forth in the book of Genesis. Genesis 1-2
Humanity - We believe that people was created in the image of God, that is to be like Him in His character. Though people were created with the potential for much good, that they might glorify God in their lives, they disobeyed God and fell into sin. Because of their fall into sin, people are now sinners by nature and thus separated from Holy God. They are totally unable to reach God on their own. Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:10, 23; Isaiah 59:1-2
Salvation - We believe that salvation (restored relationship with God) is God’s free gift to all people but that gift must be received by individual people. There are no good works that we can perform to make up for our sin. The gift is that Jesus Christ died on the cross to atone (pay) for our sins. When we turn from trusting in ourselves, repent of our sin, and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved from the penalty of sin. Eternal life begins the moment we receive Christ by faith. Romans 5:8, 6:23, 10:9-10; Ephesian 2:8-9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:4-5; Romans 5:1
Security of the Believer - We believe that those who truly come to salvation in Christ can never lose that salvation since it is totally dependent on Jesus Christ. John 10:29; Ephesians 1:13-14; 1 Peter 1:3-5; Romans 8:38-39
The Church - We believe that all believers make up the church of Jesus Christ. The local church is a congregation of professing, baptized believers who are associated with each other by a covenant and articles of faith and by the observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper. Together they seek to fulfill God's purposes. Acts 2:38, 41-42, 8:36-38; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
Return of Christ - We believe in the literal return of Christ in the air to take His church to heaven before the coming of the great tribulation. We also believe in His subsequent return to earth to set up His Kingdom. Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18; Revelation 1:7; Revelation 20:1-7; Matthew 24:36, 24:1-35
Eternity - We believe that people were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or we will live eternally with God through salvation and the forgiveness of our sins. To be eternally separated from God is to exist in a place called hell. To live in eternal union with God is to have eternal life and exist in a place called heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of existence. John 3:16, 5:28-29; 1 Corinthians 15:12-28; Romans 6:23, 2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 20:12-15;1 Corinthians 2:7-10; Revelation 21 – 22:5
